Chapter 12 Reading Response

Personal Reaction: There really wasn't a whole lot about this chapter that surprised me, however on page 243 the table where it shows methods of capturing information from sources is definitely new to me. On page 234 the book talks about starting with a working thesis which I enjoyed because sometimes although I know exactly what my freaking point is, it's hard for me to word it in a way that fits my standards, so It's always nice to be reassured that you can always change it. I think a good tip as far as sources is on page 235 where it discusses thoughtfully reading your sources because you get crazy taking notes and stuff, I find that very useful.

Professional Reaction: Honestly I think this entire chapter would be very useful to anyone writing a paper, but more importantly if said paper calls for outside sources. I think it's extremely relevant for people to know why supporting with sources matters, which is addressed on page 223. Also I think it's good for everyone to find their voice when it comes to writing, which is talked about on page 231. Something that I occasionally struggle with properly listing my sources, which I'm sure is fairly common, luckily the book touches on this subject on page 248 where it explains how to list sources as a college reader would expect. Lastly, I think that the table on page 250 is extremely useful because it describes how to integrate source information effectively.
